Terms of Service

Last updated: March 17, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to MasterTimeline. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MasterTimeline platform, available at mastertimeline.com, operated by Master Timeline LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our service.

MasterTimeline is the complete pre-production system for filmmakers and creators — from story concept to storyboard to timeline to finished video, all in one workspace. These Terms apply to all users of the platform, whether on a free trial or a paid subscription.

2. Account Terms

To use MasterTimeline, you must create an account and comply with the following requirements:

  • You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including your password. You must not share your login credentials with any other person.
  • Each individual may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits, credit allocations, or other restrictions is prohibited.
  • You must provide truthful, accurate, and complete information when creating your account. You agree to promptly update your account information if it changes.
  • You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized that activity. You must notify us immediately at support@mastertimeline.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

MasterTimeline offers three subscription tiers, each providing a monthly allocation of AI credits and access to platform features:

  • Starter — $14.99 per month
  • Creator — $29.99 per month
  • Pro — $49.99 per month

All payment processing is handled securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Subscriptions are billed on a monthly recurring basis. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • No prorated refunds are provided for partial months. If you cancel mid-cycle, you retain access to your subscription benefits until the end of the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will take effect at your next billing cycle after the notice period.
  • Promotional discounts, including first-month offers, apply only to the initial billing period and do not affect subsequent renewal charges.

4. AI Credits & Usage

MasterTimeline operates on a credit-based system. Credits are consumed when you use AI-powered features within the platform.

  • Credits are allocated monthly based on your subscription tier. The specific credit allocation for each tier is displayed on our pricing page.
  • Unused credits do not roll over. Any credits remaining at the end of your billing cycle expire and are replaced by your new monthly allocation.
  • Credits are consumed for the following actions, each at varying costs:
    • Story beat generation (text AI)
    • Panel image generation and editing (image AI)
    • Character and reference image generation
    • Video generation (varying costs by quality tier and model)
    • Studio pipeline execution (node-based batch AI workflows)
    • Audio transcription
    • Text-to-speech generation
    • AI chat messages
    • Video rendering and export
  • The specific credit cost for each action is displayed in the interface before you confirm the generation. Credit costs may be adjusted as we introduce new models or features.
  • Credits are deducted upon successful completion of a generation request. If a generation fails due to a system error, credits are not deducted.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use MasterTimeline in a lawful and responsible manner. The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Generating, uploading, or distributing content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or that promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination against any individual or group.
  • Using the platform to harass, abuse, stalk, or intimidate other users or any third party.
  • Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise extract the underlying AI models, algorithms, or proprietary technology used by the platform or its third-party providers.
  • Using automated tools, bots, scrapers, or other programmatic means to access the platform, extract data, or generate content outside the normal user interface, unless explicitly authorized through our API.
  • Reselling AI-generated content produced through MasterTimeline as stock assets, templates, or in any bulk commercial capacity where the generated content itself is the primary product being sold.
  • Circumventing or attempting to circumvent credit limits, rate limits, subscription restrictions, or any other usage controls implemented by the platform.
  • Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely representing your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Generating content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party, including copyrighted works, trademarks, or trade secrets.
  • Using the platform to create deepfakes, non-consensual intimate imagery, or any content that depicts real individuals without their authorization.
  • Uploading files containing malware, viruses, or content designed to exploit vulnerabilities in the platform or its infrastructure.

Violation of these acceptable use policies may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, at our sole discretion.

6. Content Review

We do not proactively monitor, screen, or review your projects or content. Your creative work is your own, and we respect your privacy while using the platform.

However, we reserve the right to access, review, or remove content in the following limited circumstances:

  • When we receive a report of a violation of our Acceptable Use policy from another user or third party.
  • When we are required to do so by applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process (such as a court order or subpoena).
  • When we have reason to believe that content on the platform poses a safety risk, involves illegal activity, or could expose us or our users to legal liability.
  • Through automated systems that may flag content for potential policy violations. If automated flagging is implemented, flagged content will be reviewed before any action is taken.

7. Content Ownership

We believe creators should own their work. Our content ownership terms are designed to be clear and creator-friendly:

  • Your content: You retain full ownership of your story concepts, scripts, uploaded images, uploaded videos, and all other content you create or upload to the platform.
  • AI-generated content: Images, videos, text, and other content generated by AI through your use of the platform are licensed to you for both commercial and personal use. You may use AI-generated content in your creative projects, publications, films, and other works without restriction.
  • No ownership claim by us: We do not claim ownership of your creative output, whether user-created or AI-generated. Your projects and their contents belong to you.
  • Service license: By uploading content to MasterTimeline, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and transmit your content for the purpose of providing and improving the service. This includes using your content to analyze usage patterns, improve AI features, and develop new capabilities. We may use anonymized or aggregated content data to train and improve AI models that power the platform. We will not use your content to train models sold or licensed to third parties. This license terminates when you delete your content or your account.

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

MasterTimeline uses artificial intelligence models provided by third-party services to generate text, images, and video content. You acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • AI-generated content may not be factually accurate, contextually appropriate, or consistent across multiple generation requests. AI models are probabilistic in nature and may produce unexpected, inconsistent, or erroneous results.
  • We do not guarantee visual consistency, style fidelity, or narrative coherence across multiple AI-generated panels, images, or video clips. Results may vary between generation requests even with identical inputs.
  • All AI-generated content should be reviewed by you before use in any production, commercial, or public-facing context. You are solely responsible for evaluating the suitability of AI-generated content for your intended use.
  • AI text generation is provided through OpenRouter, and AI image and video generation is provided through Fal.ai. These third-party services are subject to their own terms of service, acceptable use policies, and content policies, which may impose additional restrictions on the content that can be generated.
  • We reserve the right to change AI model providers, models, or generation parameters at any time to improve quality, reduce costs, or comply with legal requirements.

9. Collaboration Features

MasterTimeline includes optional real-time collaboration features that allow you to invite others to view or edit your projects. When you use these features:

  • Inviting a collaborator shares your project content with them according to the access level you assign (viewer, editor, or owner). You control who has access and can revoke it at any time.
  • Collaborator email addresses are shared with the project for the purpose of managing access. By inviting someone, you confirm you have a reasonable basis to share their email with our platform.
  • You are responsible for content created by collaborators within your projects. As the project owner, you accept responsibility for ensuring that collaborative work complies with these Terms.
  • Real-time collaboration features transmit cursor positions, editing indicators, and presence information to other active collaborators on the same project.

10. Service Availability

MasterTimeline is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to maintain high uptime and reliable performance, we make no guarantees regarding uninterrupted or error-free service.

  • We target high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The service may experience occasional downtime due to maintenance, updates, infrastructure issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
  • We may perform scheduled maintenance during off-peak hours. Where possible, we will provide advance notice of planned maintenance windows.
  • Features, functionality, and user interfaces may change over time as we develop and improve the platform. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the service at any time.
  • Third-party AI services (OpenRouter, Fal.ai) may experience their own outages or degraded performance, which may temporarily affect AI generation capabilities within MasterTimeline.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
  • In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from: your failure to maintain the security of your account; any unauthorized access to your account; content generated by AI models; actions of third-party service providers; or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Master Timeline LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your content, including content you upload, generate, or share through the platform.
  • Your use of AI-generated content in any context outside the platform.
  • Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
  • Your infringement of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
  • Content created by collaborators you have invited to your projects.

13. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement under the following conditions:

  • Termination by us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without prior notice if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited activities, or if we are required to do so by law. We may also terminate accounts that have been inactive for an extended period, with reasonable prior notice.
  • Termination by you: You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. If you have an active subscription, cancellation of your subscription does not automatically delete your account or data.
  • Effect of termination: Upon termination or account deletion, we will delete your account data, uploaded content, generated content, and project data within thirty (30) days. Some anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytical purposes.
  • Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to: Content Ownership, Limitation of Liability, and any accrued payment obligations.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

  • Informal resolution: Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@mastertimeline.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Most concerns can be resolved quickly this way.
  • Binding arbitration: If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Master Timeline LLC agree to resolve it through binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Arbitration is faster and less expensive than litigation for both parties.
  • No class actions: You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding.
  • Small claims exception: Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court as an alternative to arbitration.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes:

  • We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
  • For material changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
  • Your continued use of the service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the service and may delete your account.
